1 Dress, Many Outfits : Number 1

For those of you that know me or have met me somewhere in cyberspace, you will know that I wear a lot of black. It is not a particularly concious decision, but I know that if I buy a black top/skirt I'll have something to go with it. It's safer, it doesn't particularly stand out and can generally be dressed up or down as needed.

I also love to wear dresses as I don't need to find anything to match and can accessories as needed. 

So, in the Warehouse sale I found this black jersey maxi dress for £7.

 

It's a perfect staple dress, ideal for work, play, meals out, pub, and it fits me quite well (it does look better on me than the hanger!)

I have been a student of the lovely Lottie in her Finshing School on how to be Feminine & Fabulous, and am an avid follower of Think Frock it's Friday. But I do want to try to brighten up my wardrobe and be a bit more creative about what I wear. So my plan is to wear this dress as least once a month but always trying to make it look different.

I know, I know I should have bought the lilac or blue dress instead to rid myself of black, but I have a lot of black in my wardrobe and the point here is to update the black and team it with a bit of colour.

I will say, that week 1 wasn't the best but it was my first day back in work & it was early in the morning, so I kept it fairly neutral.

I was trying to decide what to blog about tonight and have decided to start a monthly series of website reviews. I have recently been scouring the web to find a pair of red shoes to wear to my best friend's wedding (of the year) on Saturday. Apparently I have an uncanny nack of choosing just the thing nobody else wants at the time, so it's been difficult!

Anyway, the bride-to-be told me about the MandMDirect website so I went to have a look. It boasts '75% off your favourite brands'. To be honest I wasnt particularly taken with the design, this is obviously subjective and does sometimes affect my internet experience, but in desperation I powered through!

I found it easy to navigate to exactly what I wanted (women's red shoes, size 3) in 4 clicks using the 'Narrow your search' form on the left hand side and straight to a pair of Firetrap shoes for £15.93 (saving £54.06). I bought them immediately! The checkout process was easy and clear, and delivery charges were fairly reasonable for this kind of website.

I placed my order late on Thursday evening and my shoes were with me on Monday, not sure exactly what time as I was out of the house but they left them in my specified 'safe place'. The arrived in perfect condition, exactly as expected and are fab!

I was very happy with their service and will definitley shop again. My friend has used the site a few times and has had some lovely clothes at great prices, never with any problems.
